Bad driver story: Okay, so I was peacefully driving down 40th in Ogden. At the top, it's a nice four-lane wide street. Then, it gets into a residential where the outside two lanes peel off and turn into right turn only lanes. Well, I was in the correct lane to go through this one intersection without having to turn right. Anyhow, just as I was approaching the intersection, some idiot from Montana driving a big truck with a cell phone came sliding up my right side and realized that he had to merge left into traffic. So, he just moves right over, nearly running over my car (which was, by the way, already in the proper lane) without a tought of a signal. Just moved on over! Goll, man! What's with these bad drivers?! People need to hang up their phones, LOOK AROUND, and drive safely.

Song of the day: "God of our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand"
Quote of the day: "The wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things. Their tops are made out of rubbers; their bottoms are made out of springs. They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun. But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is I'm (actually, today Cory is) the only one!"

I heard this today from a friend of mine in my networking class: With regards to married life: "I don't try to control her life, and I don't try to control my life."

Favorite Drink of the day: Hawaiian Punch. Just 'cause it's so good. Seriously, have you had some lately?

My brother put on a great show tonight with the Layton High choirs. As was to be expected, Joe Everton decided to start the show about 20 minutes late due to his famous "technical difficulties." The problem is that he tries to do everything himself. As the 7:00 downbeat time came and went, all the kids in the choir were simply standing around chatting with each other and with the audience. I guess I can't say that I mind because that's just Joe's way of doing things. I don't particularly agree with it because in my mind, it's a bit unprofessional. He needs to delegate some responsibility so that the show can get started without all the difficulties.

This year seems to be a rebuilding year for the choirs at LHS. They did a good job for the most part (despite half the time you couldn't hear them). However, on some charts, I thought to myself, "This isn't concert-ready. They shouldn't be performing this." I think the girls did really well, but the guys, especially Lyrics, had some real problems. Seriously, I don't think some of those kids can sing. Of course, the band drove me crazy. Those kids don't know an electric guitar from a pick ax. It's very obvious when you watch them try to play those instruments. Being an acoustic player now for some 13 years, I know what goes into learning a musical instrument with any degree of proficiency. Of course, the guitar is significantly more simple to play and make sound good than a brass instrument like the trumpet or the French horn. Those instruments require practice and skill to be able to get it right.

Well, it's actually getting really close to Tuesday, so before I have to make up a new list of favorites, I had better post this and be done for the day. Paz fuera.

As reading Jon's blog, he talks about the football game on Saturday. I will have to agree with him. The Marching Band had a really strong show. I really liked it a lot. I was even able to sit in among the band people and enjoy the bandness of everyone. It's really hard for me not being in the Marching Band this season because it's been such a huge part of my life. Anyhow, yeah, we did get sandwiches. I didn't get any hot chocolate, but did get some later on at Andrew's house. The Indiana Jones Fest was awesome. It was really cool to have all the speakers and the surround sound for the movies. That always makes such a big difference. I felt bad that Jon and I got there so late because of Daigo. We had to track him down and get his stuff back to him. But, I think everyone had fun. I could tell that some people were tired because of the game, but it was all good. I did get to see Andrew's new 'mobile: an '03 Hyundai Accent.

Anyhow, gotta go. Catch you later.

Paz fuera.

I always have to put this kind of stuff in my blog. This means that I always have to keep my eyes and thoughts open to what I can put here.

Book of the day: Naufragios por Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca. It's a great book. Lots of action and adventure.
Song of the day: Home on the Range (the one the WSU Marching Band is playing)
Food of the day: Chicken strips with ranch dressing. Mmmm. Good stuff.
Element of the day: Adamantium. It's a really cool name.
Astronomy picture of the day (APOD)

YAY!!! My blog is now Mozilla compatible. I don't really like to have to rely on Microsoft Internet Explorer to do my blogging and to view mine or others' blogs. Now, I can use my favorite browser to do it. :)

Okay, so I'm having fun with this newfound toy. I'm going to try to insert a picture in it. Here goes....

Well, that didn't work. Anyhow, I have been up far too long. I need to go to bed now. I'll continue writing later on.

Some of the greatest movies of all time are the Indiana Jones movies. Now that they are presented in glorious DVD format, they are better than ever. So, to anyone interested in a really, really good movie deal, pick up the Indiana Jones DVD collection.

There, I'm done with my advertisement for the day. Aside from that, all I have yet to say is that it'sbesttowritewithspacessothatpeoplecanunderstandyou.

I certainly am glad to have two computers running at the same time. That way I can post a blog and see it instantly w/o having to open another browser or refresh this page. Life is grand.

All right, seeing as I have had this site for [almost] 24 hours, I should probably do some kind of introduction. If anyone reads this they will know something about me, however not too much. As you may have deduced from the title of my blogspot, I play the trumpet. I should have put something like Movable Trumpet because I always end up playing any old part in band class. It's not like Dr. Root ever really places me on a certain part because I end up moving around and playing different parts.

I also am way into computers and am very inclined to the world's greatest operating system: Linux. I currently have Mandrake 9.1 installed on my computer (dual booting with Windows XP.) I must admit, I actually think that WinXP is a good piece of work; it needs some bug fixes, but otherwise a good piece of work. Anyhow, I have to use Windows to do these blogs because the blogger doesn't render in Mozilla and they don't make an Internet Explorer client for Linux. :)

Favorite Song (of the minute): Time of Your Life by Green Day.
Favorite Food: Well, that depends on what I'm in the mood for.
Favorite Movie: Anything Indiana Jones (so glad they came out with the DVD.)
Favorite Website: KDE-Look
Favorite Language: Pues, hay que saber. Es no mas el idioma de los angeles. Espanol.

Quote of the day. This one has to be inspired of Ben, who is happily going on a date tonight with Kristi. "Here I go. Here I go again on my own." The preceeding was taken from an sbemail written by The Cheat. See Homestarrunner.

I just learned how to install a mouse cursor theme in KDE last night. If only it were that simple in Windows. :) We can only hope...

Well, must be jetting off to my trumpet lesson. I figure it this way: If I play the trumpet, that is because I want to be heard, so gosh dangit, I'm goning to be heard. :)

I decided to follow the sage counsel of Jon (the Wise Tenor #3) and start my own blog. The only thing I have to say is that it is a wise thing to eat food. It is not necessarily a wise thing to eat rocks, unless of course, they are your food.
