Bending to the demands of my audience, I have decided to post my newest wallpaper image. It's actually pretty cool. I'm sorry that it's not an extremely high-quality job, but my original image was some 308kb, which was too big for my free webspace to accept in one file. To find it, click here. The file is called Red_bg2.jpg. I used some software to increase the compression of the image. Unfortunately, when you increase the compression, you also increase the flattening of the sprites in the image. Seeing as it contains a lot of blended colors, this shouldn't be a problem, but I don't like to have to compress images too much.

Well, I can honestly say that I have been impressed today by some seriously amazing web content. For starters, direct your browser (in a new window or tab by holding Ctrl and clicking on the following link) to Stupid Videos. If you happen to be using a non-Microsoft web browser, then when viewing the Stupid Videos, please choose the QT format for viewing. Otherwise, the default format is perfectly fine.

After viewing that, go and direct your browser to Ubergeek. It's a great site for all those geek-sort folks out there. They have a series of funny flash animations and some really cool comics depicting life in a techno-babble world.

Anyhow, enjoy. Take care!

Chat at you later!

Okay,

So, I haven't published a blog since a few days ago, so I might as well do it now. This one's not going to be all that long or impressive. I don't really have time for a whole lot of stuff. I actually have to get going and work on my VoIP stuff.

The basketball game last night was good. Well, sort of. It wasn't a very impressive game. WSU was ahead the entire game and they usually led by a big margin. It's good for the record, but not a very exciting game.

The pep band had fun. Derrick played drums instead of the trumpet which was interesting. I played first the whole night and pretty much blew my face off. Pep band is a lot of fun. I got tickle-tortured by Kristin Fink. Yes, that's right. I am very easily tickled. All anyone has to do is touch me and I freak out. She discovered that at the game. :)

Saying of the day: Thank God for the Jewish. It was they who gave us the bagel.

Anyhow, that is all I have to say today. Well, I have one more thing: This morning my dad moved my car and I watched from inside. I noticed that the right-rear brake light was out and I thought, "Oh, great. Now I have to fix that." Well, it turned out that it was just a loose wire. I banged on it a bit and it worked, so I just have to keep that in mind and make sure that all the lights on my car work properly.

Tonight is LOTRisk @ my house. Jon is coming over at about 5 or so and we're going to work on our presentation for Monday and then Ben is coming and we're going to play the game. :) Fun stuff! I hope Ben is having fun on his date with Melanie!

Chao!

I can't believe this crap! I touched the wrong button on my browser and it killed my post for the evening. I had quite a bit written and now I have no idea what happened to it. I will try to think about it some more and repost as much as I can remember. This did include Jason's Assault on the Media. :(

Anyhow, I'll be back later when I can gather my thoughts again. This site has a JavaScript applet that, if I close the page without saving the post, it asks me if I want to save it. But, when I realize my mistake and go back to the page, I can't find my "saved" post. I'll have to see if I can resolve this. Until then, stand by...

This is a very short blog because I really don't have time to blog right now.

Website of the day: Redneck Test

Mmmmm. Apple juice. I think it's an element. It's so fundamental to life that it should be an element. That and pineapple juice. Jugo de Vaca is pretty good once in a while.

I've been picking my brain for the last little while on what to write about. Of course, the first thing that came to my deranged mind was apple juice. I did stumble across some pretty good blogs tonight. Most of them, however, I really didn't understand because the authors simply ramble on and on.

Internet find of the day: Industrious Clock

I just thought I'd throw that in there for safe keeping. I know it's kind of random, but hey, you have to be spontaneous once in a while.

So, Ben told me that he had an awesome day today. Chatted with Kristi quite a bit. That's always nice to hear about. I think if he keeps having good days like this, he's going to float away.

Also, Amy went and had her surgery today. I won't go into details about it, but let's just say it's not the most pleasant thing to have. I had a companion on my mission who had a similar surgery and he wasn't the happiest person afterwards. Good luck, Amy!

Y'know, I know they are overrated, but I really think Evanascence is a good group. Another random thought. :)

Website of the day: Everyone Looks Spiffy in a Tux
Drink of the day: Do I have to say?
Food of the day: Darkened Chick-fil-A

Anyhow, catch y'all later!

Tuesday, November 18, 2003

Hello, again, everyone! I took a bit of an unexpected hiatus from my usual ramblings because of a bad cold I got last Tuesday. I sat down at work and immediately started to cough really violently. This lasted most of the day and then I was fine for the band concert that evening.

I have to say something about the concert: we kicked butt on that one. It was an awesome concert. We played Symphony Nr. 1 - The Lord of the Rings by Johan De Meij. It was seriously sweet. The Marching Band also did an excellent job on their part of the concert. I didn't get to see much of the flute choir, but with Nancy Toone at the helm, I'm sure they had a great performance.

So, today was a pretty good day. I'm finally getting over my cold and am starting to join the land of the living. We had pep band rehearsal this afternoon and that was a lot of fun. Dr. Keipp was out of town and so Dr. Root filled in directing the band. That was great! He and I had a bit of a disagreement about the tempo of a Van Halen chart that we have and he said: "If Van Halen were here, he'd say it should go that fast." My friends and I are always trying to find funny and/or profound things that Dr. Root says so that we can add them to the Rootisms page on the Internet. But, yeah, that was one of the great sayings of the day. It seems that both of the Rootisms of the day were directed at me. :)

Okay, It is time for me to do my much awaited, much ballyhooed "Jason's Assault on the Media!" (Cheers from the audience)
1 - Huh?
2 - Something else to grab our attention: Same-sex marriages
3 - And now for some real news: Jacko! Hey, can he buy his way out?
4 - Unlikely combination, depending on your point of view: Britney vs. Osama
5 - I barely got a driver's license, but I've had my own magazine for quite a while - Olsen Twins
6 - And they even made a GameBoy game out of it.
7 - Best product if you have a fear of daylight: Lycra
8.3 - Best new Operating System: Windows 2.0 (Windows | 286)
9 - Most blaring difference between men and women: Driving
10 - Best reason to stay in jail: Football
And a bonus feature -
11 - Best reason to give up being a rock star after 50: Meat Loaf

Well, as you can see, I have had another wonderful time scouring the web for the most informative entertainment news available. Check next week as I dig through the anals of the Onion for its best in entertainment content.

Anyhow, it's getting pretty late, so I guess I had better post this and jet.
Oh yeah, and I should mention: Good luck, Amy! You'll be fine!

TTFN!

Tuesday, November 11, 2003

Okay, so I have like a couple of minutes to put something here. I really don't have a lot on my mind. It's not my usual blogging time so right now my mind isn't in the blogging mood.

Best thing to say to a dumb person: RTFM

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOG. Yeah, yeah. NEW KIDS ON THE BLOG. Okay, I know, that probably conjures up really painful memories of the late '80s with those steps in the head and parachute pants and really brightly colored Trapper Keepers. Yeah, it's even too much for me to take. Now, if you're like most people, you are probably wondering why I dragged you down such an unspeakable corridor of the memory. Well, I have to start with a very engaging conversation I was having with my friend, Amy, this morning. We were talking about something, and suddenly, we were both laughing about an unnamed rock group because I had mentioned a certain feature of this blogging website. It actually has reference to all those newbies (to borrow a Linux term) to the blog. I have found it to be quite an awesome experience.

Okay, on to my rants and raves. I can't decide whether this is a rant or a rave because half of me thinks it's one of the funniest things I've ever heard, half of me thinks it's dumb, and half of me thinks, "What did I have for lunch?" One, two, three halves...? Hmmm. I don't know. Anyhow, did you know that the Saudis are feeling that they are in a sand shortage? Okay, if they're in a sand shortage now, what's to stop Cuba from fearing a seawater shortage? Seriously, I guess someone wants to not only run the oil industry, but also the sand industry. That will have an immense effect on cement sales and childrens' funtime. Sand. Is it a new endangered species. So far, I haven't heard of anyone saying: "Protect the Saudi Arabia's wild sand population from extinction. Donate now!" I guess, since we learned from last time's blog that we are all among the richest people in the world, why not donate and save the Wild Saudi Sand.

Jason's Assault on the Media
1 - Best Band: See Picture
2 - Sexiest Entertainer: Bennifer, aka J Lo
3 - Wittiest Daytime Performer: O
4 - Product Most Likely to get you Killed: Oil of Ole
5 - Best Rapper (Okay, this really isn't a category, but he said he'd sic his thugs on me if I didn't include it): M&M
6 - Most likely to leave you with a bad taste in your gizzard: Bjork
7 - Woa! How'd that one get in there: No Comment
8 - What happened to Brittney Spears? Alien Abduction
9 - Best Post-political stress reliever: Jammin' with Ozzie Melendez
10 - Is this chicken or is this fish? You know who I mean

Anyhow, that was Jason's Assault on the Media. Stay tuned for possibly more blatant misrepresentation of (sometimes) public icons.

Au revoir

Sunday, November 09, 2003

Hey, I saw a really cool website. I found out that I am in the 13.26 percent of richest people in the world. That's pretty amazing because in our society, I really don't make that much money. At least I don't feel like I do. But I guess if you look at all the places like South America and Asia, I would guess that it's true. Man, that's kind of humbling to think about.

Yesterday, I worked on the band photo album. I got all the "Coming Soon" pages to go away. It was a lot of fun posting cool pictures of my friends and remembering the fun trips and activities that I have been part of. However, the whole time I was publishing these pictures, I couldn't help but think about the need I have to get finished with my Taiwan pictures. I have a lot of pictures that I took that have never been scanned and posted.

Anyhow, that's what I wanted to blog about today. I wish I had something funny to say, but I don't right now. :)

Tchau.

Saturday, November 08, 2003

Well, well! It appears that I have not posted anything for a few days. Hmmm. High time I posted something. Actually, I haven't had anything really interesting happen to me these last few days, so I really can't say a whole lot. I did go to the temple this morning. That was very nice.

Favorite activity: Scanning pictures of friends.
Favorite drink: Hawaiian Punch.
Favorite movie: Knick Knack. (PIXAR Short from 1989)
Least Favorite Activity: Waiting for webpages to load over a 56k-itis connection.
Favorite Website: PlacesNamed A great site to waste a lot of time with.

Anyhow, must jet. Chao!

Wednesday, November 05, 2003

Okay, so I was searching on the Internet for some stuff and also checking one of my less-used email accounts, when I came across a kissing quiz. So, I'll have to declare that as the website of the day. :)

Actually, Ben wasn't that irritated with my failure to post a blog this past Monday. He was just very quick to point it out to me this morning. I also thought that since I didn't post a blog Monday that I would take it upon myself to do one on various other days throughout the week, assuming I can type better than I am currently typing.

Food of the day: I had some Chick-fil-A today.
Drink of the day: Now this one isn't really fair because yesterday, I had Stephen's Vanilla. However today, I had some Ruby Red Grapefruit juice. (Yumm!)
Favorite Song: Can't really decide on one. This evening I was listening to Brickhouse and that's a pretty good song.

Y'know, with all of these links in here, one day, this blog is destined to become obsolete. I mean, seriously. Nobody stays in one place on the internet. Sites might be maintained, but images and content change all the time.

Well, the Holy Ghost just went to bed, which means I need to do the same.

Favorite web site of the day: I'm going to have to go with Jon on this one: explodingdog.

Fun activity: Went and gave Amy some great snow tires so that she doesn't have to drive in the snow with her summer tires. Hey, I had them sitting around and couldn't use them any more, so I gave them to her. :)

Comoquiera, paz fuera. Que se duerman bien.

Because Ben was so sad to see that I had not put up a blog for Monday, I told him I would do one today. I really don't have a lot to say today other than I am really glad to have a not bend bottom part of my trunk. I went and replaced the bottom board on my Saturn because the person who owned it before I did got the board wet and it warped really badly and it kind of smelled hoaky.

Band was interesting. Dr. Root wanted to play through all the music in a dress rehearsal-esque type of rehearsa. However, instead of playing through all the music, we ended up stopping. We stopped quite a bit less than normal, but nonetheless, we didn't make it through all the music without stopping.

In case you haven't noticed, I have decided to include lots of links in this blog. Ben has lots in his and they are pretty funny, so I decided that it was incumbent upon me to follow suit, at least for a little while. :)

Well, I think that I am done for a while. I will be back to blog later!

Chao!

Jason
